New Features

There are not a lot of new features on the 2021 version of the Ford Ranger. Four new exterior colours were introduced to add more options for buyers: Cyber Orange, Velocity Blue, Cactus Gray, and Carbonized Gray. In addition, the Black appearance package was upgraded to include black Ford oval badges and new bedside decals.

Design

The 2021 Ford Ranger's exterior styling focuses on athleticism and capability. It blends style and function to show that it is a truck that can handle the adventures that drivers want to have. A low-angled windshield, wide grille opening, and rounded wheel arches provide aerodynamic functionality.

On the inside, the Ranger again emphasizes style and function. The truck provides room for five passengers comfortably in the four-door models and places a large focus on intuitive and easy-to-operate controls.

The 2021 Ford Ranger can be designed in two ways: SuperCab or SuperCrew. The SuperCab provides seating for four people--two in the front and two in the rear, while the SuperCrew offers four full-size doors and seating for up to five passengers.

Performance

Under the hood of every 2021 Ford Ranger lives a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This engine accelerates well and offers a smooth ride even on the largest of Ranger models. It even offers decent towing and hauling capabilities for a smaller truck, towing up to 3,401 kg and hauling 843 kg.

For those wanting more off-road capability, the Ranger is available with a Terrain Management System that optimizes the truck's performance on different surfaces, including mud, sand, snow, grass, and gravel. The Ranger boasts 11.8 L/100km city and 9.8 L/100km highway fuel economy.

Infotainment

The base XL model of the Ford Ranger provides only a four-speaker AM/FM audio system instead of an infotainment system. The other models upgrade drivers to an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability as well as SiriusXM satellite radio.

Safety

In terms of safety, every Ford Ranger comes with standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking. Upgrade to the mid-level XLT model, and the Ranger comes with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of features, which includes lane-keeping system, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist, auto high-beam headlamps, and rearview camera.

Ford brought back the Ranger in style, and it continues to ensure that it is a capable, comfortable, and powerful mid-size truck that drivers will want to buy. The Ranger offers the best value in the mid-level XLT trim, providing the comfort, convenience, and safety features that drivers have come to expect.
