2018 Ford F-150
The 2018 Ford F-150
The 2018 F-150 delivers segment-shattering performance in Vancouver - refusing to compromise on either strength or all-terrain capability. Allow Key West Ford to introduce you to this powerhouse and prepare to Go Further.
Military-Grade Aluminum Framing
Doing something the right way often results in multiple benefits. Case in point: going from steel to high-strength military-grade aluminum alloys in the F-150 cab and bed. Hardening aluminum alloy through heat-treating produces greater strength. Working with aluminum alloy also allows engineers to increase gauge (or thickness) where needed to achieve extra strength without increasing weight. The F-150 now weighs up to 700 pounds less than the previous generation, resulting in greater power-to-weight ratio, enhanced fuel efficiency, higher payloads, and tow ratings that are best-in-class.
Towing and Payloads
The F-150 can tow more than ever before – up to 13,200 lbs. - with the available 3.5L EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6; while greater strength with less weight helps achieve a best-in-class 3,270-lb. payload rating in F-150s powered by the legendary Ford 5.0L V8. Expect (and receive) more with every rev.
Backing up a trailer involves navigating two vehicles at the same time – the truck going one way and the trailer going in the opposite direction. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro at this often-tricky manoeuvre, the available class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes it as easy as turning a knob. Simply rotate the knob left or right in the direction you want the trailer to go - that's it! The F-150 is the first pickup truck to offer this breakthrough feature.
The 2018 F-150 offers not only best-in-class payloads, but also a pickup bed that can be equipped to make work easier. Available features include the customizable BoxLink™ system; LED lights; integrated loading ramps; a tailgate step with lift assist; and deployable box side steps. Use these to smooth out the toughest of workdays and make every job as productive as possible.
Not satisfd with the high power ratings of their 3.5L EcoBoost®, Ford engineers designed a second generation of this potent engine with even higher ratings of 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, beating out all gas and diesel competitors. Further major improvements: a Ford-first port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) with two injectors per cylinder—one in the air intake port and another inside the cylinder—to increase power and efficiency. All-new twin turbos for greater on-demand power, as well as a more responsive 10-speed transmission, are also included.
How does the 2.7L EcoBoost® deliver impressive performance and capability, with power ratings of 325 horsepower and a jaw-dropping 400 lb.-ft. of torque? The answer: features like Ford-first port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) with two injectors per cylinder (one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder), as well as upper block and cylinders made of the same high-strength compacted graphite iron used in the Super Duty® 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel.
3.3L Ti-VCT V6
With responsive power and capability, the new 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 can handle the demands of everyday jobs. The twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) opens/closes the valves in precise duration to suit operating conditions - so power output is optimized at every point across the performance band. Achieve 290 HP and 265 lb.-ft of torque.
5.0L Ti-VCT V8
This legendary Ford V8 delivers even more muscle than ever, promising a best-in-class payload. Experience robust 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, thanks to twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) and new direct-injection (DI) technology. The 5.0L also offers a CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package for conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane autogas for further convenience.
Raptor DOHC 24-Valve High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost®
The Baja-bred F-150 Raptor is perfectly at home on a typical paved road. But going from mild to wild on the most unforgiving terrain – now we’re in the right territory. Unique to this truck is a twin-turbo intercooled DOHC 24-valve 3.5L EcoBoost® with port fuel and direct injection system and a 10-speed automatic. This high-output EcoBoost generates a massive 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque—more power than the previous 6.2L V8!
3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V6
As part of its most advanced engine lineup ever, the 2018 Ford F-150 offers a much-anticipated new alternative. The new 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V6 is built on the legacy of the tried-and-true Super Duty® diesel, designed to deliver outstanding power in a hard-working truck. It promises class-leading power, with the staggering 440 lb.-ft. of torque coming in at just 1750 RPMs. This allows the truck to produce up to 11,400 pounds (5,170 kg) of conventional trailering and and 2,020 (916kg) payload pounds.
